Roger Drews - Co-race director

Mr. Drews has produced track meets, 5k's, and Triathlons for elementary, middle, and high school age youth and has worked several multi-sport events. Mr. Drews has completed over 300 multi-sport races from Tri and Du sprints to Ironman, and has been racing from 1979 to present. Mr. Drews has also coached many sports besides Triathlon/Duathlon. They include: fast-pitch ladies softball, baseball, weight-lifting and track field at the elementary and middle school level. While coaching track, Mr. Drews led several top elementary and high school runners to top finishes in the Junior Olympics and San Diego CIF Finals. Besides producing the San Diego Duathlon series, Mr. Drews is currently preparing to qualify for TeamUSA in the short-course Duathlon in the 50-54 age group. Mr. Drews is gratefully married to co-race director Mary Lou Baranowski.

Mary Lou Baranowski - Co-race director

Mrs. Baranowski has taught at Lindbergh Schweitzer Elementary for 21 years and while there has produced dozens of running and Olympic Day events for the student body. She has also produced dozens of running and sporting events for athletes of all ages.

Mrs. Baranowski was an asst. coach at UW-LaCrosse and head coach for track and x-country in Waukesha, WI High School. Mrs. Baranowski has taught in the ENS dept. at SDSU and has a M.S. degree in Exercise Physiology. Additionally, she is a National Board Certified Teacher and writes curriculum for SPARK Physical Education.

A competitive runner for over 20 years, Mrs. Baranowski ran track for UW-LaCrosse and competed for East Bay Sports in Milwaukee WI, and excelled at all distances from the mile to marathon. Mrs. Baranowski has also qualified and competed in the Boston Marathon and has PR's of 37:30 (10Km) and 3:09 (marathon). Additionally, she has also competed in several multi-sport events.
